BUCC Socials Calendar 2009/10
Hey guys and welcome to the most important page of the website - the canoe club socials are legendary and rightly so! The club has an awesome social side, most members having a drink in hand as soon as we're off the water (and sometimes while still paddling!) Socials are held every Thursday after the pool session, but even if you can't make it to the pool, feel free to come along after. All socials start at around 9, check you emails for details and the gallery for evidence. Good times are guaranteed by Rachel, social sec extraordinaire (never seen without drink in hand!)
Itchy Feet!
This week for the social we'll be heading across to Lakota for Itchy Feet!
'Two djs playing Swing, Soul, Funk, Rhythm & Blues, Rock n Roll and Ska
take over Lakota on Thursday 4th February'
It's an amazing night and loads of fun Very Happy
I highly recommend you get tickets (£5) beforehand, they'll be on sale
Tuesday: 1pm ASS Library (look for the itchy poster) and Thursday: Itchy
Feet on the corner of woodland road, follow the music!
You can buy them on the door, but there'll be a queue :/
Sorry for the late notice, I've been trying to find out where tickets are
on sale.
See you Thursday!
Three-legged social
A club tradition – a messy affair down St Michaels Hill, partnering up freshers to current members. The old boys get to teach the new 'uns how its done in the club and the freshers can prove what they're made of. Starting at the Highbury Vaults at 9 (The King's Arms at 8 for Stoke Bishop type folk) and ending up at the bottom of the hill...somewhere, this is the first proper social and one of the most important ones of the year, see you there!
Scavenger Hunt
Teams will be let loose around Clifton to complete drinking and non-drinking challenges and generally make fools of themselves. Meeting in Bar 100 at 8:30 and taking an interesting route to Po Na Nas. Don't forget to bring your camera - the winning team will receive a special prize and points will be awarded for nudity!
Get F*cked For Fitz
THE most important social of the year. This fundraising event is held in memory of Jon Fitzsimmons, a club member who died whilst paddling 6 years ago. Paddlers from all over the country as well as students from other outdoor activities societies come to try and raise money for the clubs safety funds. This is truly an awesome night and not to be missed! It will be held at Pitcher and Piano down by the waterfront and tickets will be £5. More details coming soon!
Thanks!
